What exactly is a mainframe?

Is there an upfront cost?
No. The platform build is included in your subscription. You pay one monthly fee from day one. For exceptionally complex projects, we may discuss a custom arrangement, but for 90% of businesses, the monthly subscription covers everything.
What about my existing data?
We migrate everything. Customer records, invoices, job history, employee data — we handle the exports from your current tools, clean the data, and import it into your new platform. You don't lose anything.
What if I need changes after launch?
Your subscription includes continuous updates and new features. Need a new module? A workflow change? An additional integration? We build and deploy it as part of your ongoing service. Your mainframe evolves with your business.
Do I own my data?
Yes, absolutely. Your data belongs to you. You can export it at any time. If you ever decide to leave Mainframe (we hope you won't), we'll provide a full data export in standard formats.
What technology do you use?
React and TypeScript for the frontend, Supabase for the backend and database, edge functions for serverless logic, and enterprise-grade hosting with automatic scaling. Everything is modern, fast, and battle-tested.
Is there a mobile app?
Every mainframe is fully mobile-responsive and works on any device. For businesses that need native mobile features (like GPS tracking for field techs), we build dedicated mobile apps as part of your platform.
What is the AI agent, exactly?
Your AI agent is an autonomous digital operator trained on your business processes. It handles tasks like answering phone calls, sending follow-up emails, booking appointments, generating reports, and managing routine operations — 24/7. It's not a chatbot; it's a real operator that takes action inside your platform.
Is the AI agent safe? What if it makes a mistake?
Every AI action is logged and auditable. Sensitive operations require human approval. You control exactly what the agent can and cannot do, and you can review and override any decision. We build guardrails into every agent deployment.
Do you work with businesses outside California?
Yes. We're based in San Luis Obispo, CA, but we serve businesses nationwide. Our discovery and onboarding process works remotely, and our support is available regardless of location.
Can I keep some of my existing tools?
Absolutely. If there's a specific tool you love and want to keep (like QuickBooks for accounting), we'll integrate it with your mainframe. The goal is to reduce complexity, not force you to abandon tools that work well.
